The exercise of draconian censorship has never conveyed constructive majors to those countries that used this approach.A lot has been written on countries that applied harsh laws to prevent the diffusion of information among its population, the captivity of journalists and news editors for publishing pictures of political leaders, ban populations from media exposure such as radio and television and even cases of assassination.
The South African bill of Protection of Information; Media Appeal Tribunal are cases of introduction of draconian censorship to the countries freedom of expression in a new level.
In a long run the censorship will escalate in brutal strategies, leading to ultimately destruction of years of achievements of freedom of expression for those involve in media activities and the lost of the citizen’s right of information.
All regimes start with the introduction of so called small censorship strategies but all end up with uncontrollable severe actions.
